Do I need the app to play?

No. R-01 is a complete electric guitar, and the onboard effects and presets work from the knobs alone. The app adds the learning modes, the tuner and the light show.

Which phones does the app work with?

iOS and Android. The guitar connects to the app over Bluetooth LE.

I’m a complete beginner. Is it for me?

Yes. Chord mode lights each note in the colour of the finger that plays it — red index, green middle, blue ring, yellow pinky — so you see the shape before you play it. Scales, CAGED shapes and progressions take over as you improve.

I already play. What’s in it for me?

The whole neck, visible: 15 scale types and five CAGED shapes in all 12 keys, a progression player from 20 to 180 BPM, and a rig in the body — speaker, effects, drum machine and recorder.

Can I practise without disturbing anyone?

Yes. Silent practice mode is built for headphones.

Can I record what I play?

Yes. Connect your phone with an OTG cable and record lossless at 48 kHz / 24-bit.

What colours can the lights be?

Full RGB. In chord mode the colours mark fingers; in scale and CAGED modes they mark the root, 3rd and 5th; in light-show mode you choose any colour.

Does the fretboard follow other tunings or a capo?

The app has tuning and capo settings so the fretboard view stays correct, and the tuner offers chromatic, standard, drop D and half-step down.
